• Supervised and provided ongoing training for seven full-time
hydrologic staff. Worked on all aspects of surface water data collection
and analysis at over 150 sites in western Washington.
• Performed final quality control review of surface water and sediment
records.
• Determined flood plan assignments and led field crews measuring
high flow events in Midwest and Northwest.
• Installed and operated Mt. St. Helens flood-warning network as
part of two-member team. Did emergency troubleshooting and repair of
remote field sites.
• Upgraded instrumentation to obtain real-time data in southern
Oregon.
• Trained USGS personnel from across the country in sediment field

History

Steve and Maureen
Gustafson formed the company in Washington state in 1995 to provide
data collection of surface water. The company's name changed to River
Measurement, LLC in 2003. It changed from a limited liability company
to a corporation in 2004 and is now River Measurement, Ltd. It is also
known as RM. The corporation is registered in the states of Washington,
Oregon and Idaho. Steve Gustafson is the President and Principal Hydrologist
specializing in surface water data collection and Maureen Gustafson
is the Business Director and is the Secretary-Treasurer of the Board.
Additional staff have been hired beginning in 1998.
General
contractor registration is required in many states for the development
of stream-gaging stations. RM is registered
as a General Contractor for Washington (#RIVERML966J2) and is licensed
as a General Contractor for Oregon (CCB license #159661) and is
bonded in both states.
